Housing: For Rent / For Sale

After a few years of inattention, many of us are thrilled to see a release of an updated more mobile and tablet friendly version of www.rogerspark.com, a venture first started over fifteen years ago.

After a few years of inattention, many of us are thrilled to see a release of an updated more mobile and tablet friendly version of www.rogerspark.com, a venture first started over fifteen years ago.

Time will tell what shape this new release will take: we are confident that with community involvement, support of generous advertisers and the superior efforts of long time Rogers Park resident and community advocate Walt Kennedy (of Walt Kennedy Design)  (add link.) that the site can offer Rogers Park residents and RP wannabes and prospective business owners a unique and positive impression of our community.

With all of these new capabilities, the feature that most excites me is the one that translates the website in a variety of languages.

We all know that Rogers Park is home to people from many many countries the world over, and not all are proficient in English.

Due to Walt’s tireless efforts and our investment in a dynamic and diverse workforce, the website is easily translatable to over 100 languages – from Africaans to Zulu – and everything between!!!

This wasn’t easy to pull off.

Walt started this process over ninety days ago, interviewing folks to work for him as translators. By the end of Day 1, Walt had found translators who could help us with Italian, French, Azerbaijeni and Arabic.

Within a week, Walt’s efforts paid off even more: as he found folks able to translate in  Irish, Scottish Gaelic, Maori (he found all of the three aforementioned translators at the Poitin Still at 1512 W. Jarvis) and in Swahili and Spanish.

Walt now houses the 43 translators, all of whom work in an undisclosed call center location, where they busily translate the original content being provided by rogerspark.com content providers.  (see photo).
