A Film Series by Transition Rogers Park

What Would Jesus Buy?
Wednesday, January 13th
7:00 - 9:00 PM
No Exit Café - 6970 North Glenwood
Admission: $3.00
Join Transition Rogers Park for the first in our four-part film series, “Remaking the American Dream,” in which we’ll take a look at the culture and consequences of American consumption, and think together about what new visions of wealth and prosperity we might work for in the 21st Century.
First up: “What Would Jesus Buy?” - a film by Morgan Spurlock, featuring the hilarious antics of Reverend Billy and his Stop Shopping Gospel Choir. The Reverend and his choir are out to bring an entertaining and musical halt to the destruction of the holidays brought on by too much shopping.
If the consumerism of the last several months got you down, or if you found yourself overspending on the holidays yet again (as many Americans, even in a time of recession, did) come join us for some comic relief and a discussion of what renewed and sustainable collective celebration might look like.
