Posted on August 18, 2009

Dwayne Jones, 18, of the 6600 block of North Ashland was ordered held on $75,000 bond on Sunday by Circuit Court Judge Peggy Chiampas, said Andrew Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.

He was charged with one count of strong armed robbery for the attack which happened at about 10:45 p.m. on the 1600 block of West Lunt Avenue.

One of the 15-year-old boys was charged with strong armed robbery while the other boy faces an additional charge of battery. Police did not identify the boys because they are juveniles. They were ordered held in the Juvenile Detention Center, police said.

Police said a 52-year-old man was walking when he noticed the three individuals approaching him. They beat him on the body and head before robbing him, police said.

After police were notified of the robbery police saw the three males who matched the description offered by witnesses. The man was treated for his injuries at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The three were identified by witnesses, police said.
