Join the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society for their Lincoln’s Birthday 202nd birthday celebration


The Rogers Park / West Ridge Historical Society invites you to join them this Saturday for their monthly program Second Saturday at the Society. They will feature a presentation on Abraham Lincoln entitled, “Tracing Lincoln’s Life”  a group discussion on Illinois’ favorite son. 

Date: Saturday, February 12, 2011
Time: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Location: 1447 W. Morse Ave.
Admission: Free to members / $5 suggested donation to non-members
Second Saturday at the Society is a monthly series of programs featuring speakers and presentations ranging from local history to topics of general historical interest to cultural issues spotlighting the diverse population of Rogers Park and West Ridge. Second Saturday at the Society offers an opportunity for Society members - and for the public at large - to engage with fellow history buffs, hear enlightening speakers, and come away with a renewed appreciation for what the Rogers Park/West Ridge community offers. The Society welcomes any suggestions for future speakers and presentations.


SAVE THE DATES For upcoming Second Saturday at the Society:
- March 12, will feature Bastiaan Bouma from the Chicago
  Architecture Foundation and a sneak preview of their 2011
  House Tour focusing on Morse Ave.
- April 9, will welcome Jacob Kaplan from  
  forgottenchicago.com, who will be speaking about Rogers
  Park’s development from suburb to urban neighborhood.
- May 14, when Greg Borzo, acclaimed author of The Chicago
  “L” will present the history of Chicago’s elevated trains.
