CHICAGO - Raven Theatre reaches out to the LGBTQ community through their new event series, “Out at Raven”.  This series shows Raven’s appreciation of and commitment to the LGBTQ community, providing an opportunity to mingle and network during one Friday night performance of each mainstage show.  Each “Out at Raven”  performance includes a post-show wine and appetizer reception and discussion with the cast and director.

“Out at Raven” dates for the 2010-2011 season are:
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof - October 22nd
Radio Golf - March 4
Cherry Orchard - June 10

The Glenwood opens its doors to the theatre community for a special party on August 30, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Presented in partnership with Raven Theatre, this event brings together members of different segments of the community to appreciate the vibrant and affordable performing arts offerings at its fingertips.

Catch a sneak peak of Raven Theatre’s fall show, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, as featured cast members perform staged readings from the beloved Williams classic.  Raven Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director, Michael Menendian, discusses the theatre’s 2010-2011 season that opens with Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams and also includes Radio Golf by August Wilson, and The Cherry Orchard, by Anton Chekhov.  Find out why Raven Theatre’s subscription packages are a great way to connect to this strong cultural anchor in the Edgewater community!

Raven Theatre
Founded in 1983, Raven Theatre is dedicated to breathing new life into American classics and exploring other works that illuminate the American experience, with occasional forays into world classics. In addition to its regular season, Raven produces a Workshop Series of new and experimental productions, as well as an Educational Outreach program, including teaching partnerships with various Chicago Public Schools, summer youth classes and original children’s shows performed at Raven Theatre.
