Annual “Trash to Treasure Swap” at CMSA June 8 & 9
Looking for a good reason to do a little spring-cleaning? Look no further. This is how it works: Go through your closets, attic, basement or storage locker to find things you no longer want or need, but are still usable for others. Then, on Saturday June 8th between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. bring those items to the annual “Trash for Treasure Swap” being held this year in the gymnasium at Chicago Math and Science Academy, 7212 N Clark St. (across from Touhy Park, just south of the City of Chicago firehouse)
Please do NOT bring clothing, shoes (except sports equipment), mattresses or upholstered furniture.
Now here’s the exciting part. Once you drop off your items, you get tickets to the “Preview Pick-Up” happening the next day, Sunday, June 9th from Noon to 2 p.m. This preview gives those with tickets first dibs on items that were dropped off the day before. Certified school teachers are also welcome during this preview period to obtain classroom items. After the Preview, doors will open to the public from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for those who wish to avail themselves of the remaining hidden treasures.
