Feeding homeless people a means, not an end
Every Thursday evening about 6 , when most Chicagoans are on their way home for dinner, a group of Loyola University students head to the Loop to serve food to homeless men and women. But, for these students and the men and women they meet, it's not just about the food -- it's about building relationships. JCC volunteer coach raises funds for new basketball hoops
Long-time Jewish Community Center (JCC) Chicago volunteer basketball coach Maury Aaron recently raised $8,500 in donations from friends and fellow JCC parents, in order to replace the basketball backboards and rims for the gym at the Bernard Horwich JCC in West Rogers Park. The basketball hoops were replaced this past summer.
