The Treadmill Time Traveler - Sandy Goldman
A new fitness center recently opened near my home, and I have become a member. As an adult, I have never been much into fitness or weight training. Oh, I walk a few miles five times a week, but that is all. I thought that some weight work and some treadmill time would be a good thing (no comments please). I was not prepared for the “time journey” that took place as I began my workouts however. Full column here.

Community Feast - Oct 12 2009
Dear Friend, I am giving my full support to the all-volunteer Community Feast program at United Church of Rogers Park. Will you join me at their 25th Anniversary Celebration? It is on Mon., Oct. 12 at Uncommon Ground Restaurant, 1401 W. Devon Ave., Chicago, IL. Since 1984, Community Feast has provided free and full dinners to Rogers Park neighbors in need every Sunday at the church at 1545 W. Morse Ave., Chicago, IL. The church hasn’t missed one Sunday meal yet. That’s a great accomplishment to celebrate in our community! Today’s gloomy economy has boosted the number of guests the church feeds. Not only the homeless, but increasingly parents with children rely on these nutritionally complete and wholesome meals to help make ends meet. Can you join me with me and make a commitment to help? I’m buying tickets to the upcoming fundraiser for Community Feast and I hope you will too. The event invitation is attached, and all you need to do is click on the link to support this important work. You can help ensure that we meet the need to fight hunger in Rogers Park.More…
