JCC volunteer coach raises funds for new basketball hoops
Long-time Jewish Community Center (JCC) Chicago volunteer basketball coach Maury Aaron recently raised $8,500 in donations from friends and fellow JCC parents, in order to replace the basketball backboards and rims for the gym at the Bernard Horwich JCC in West Rogers Park. The basketball hoops were replaced this past summer.

Dog Park Planning Meeting
Community representatives serving on the Participatory Budgeting Parks & Environment Committee invite you to a meeting to discuss plans and possible locations for an official dog park in the 49th Ward. The meeting will be held this Saturday, February 6th, 3:00 p.m., at The Glenwood, 6962 N. Glenwood Ave. Staff from from the Chicago Park District will be present to discuss the procedures involved in creating a dog park. This is only an information and planning meeting for a project proposal, which will be subject to a community vote in April alongside many other spending proposals.

Trick or Treat at Loyola
An entire academic hall is decorated in Halloween style to create an atmosphere you and your children will love. All you have to do is bring your child in costume and walk the fun and spooky halls of Dumbach Hall on Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus. Loyola students will happily dole out the tricks and treats as you go from door to door, just like you would in your neighborhood. The event is free. Children must be accompanied.More…

Indian Boundary Park Volunteer Docent Program
